Facility:   Located almost literally at the 'end of road', our Boot Camp site in Togo, MN. offers some of the best sled dog training that you can find anywhere. Unlimited training roads/trails are available 24/7. The temperature usually cooperates even through the summer months so our Spring and Fall Camps promise dependable training weather.

The Bunk House is rustic and is open to all participants free of charge. Bunks and floor space for approximately 10-12 people. We've had up to 19 in the Bunk House but it was cozy!!  Wood heat, refrigerator; 2 microwaves, stove and electricity. There is an outhouse behind the Bunk House.  There is hot/cold water; stove; shower & toilet; some freezer space in the Dog House, not far from Bunk House.

You may also choose to camp near the Bunk House or Mushroom House. We have RV hookups (electricity only). We use the Bunk House as a gathering spot for all participants during the Boot Camp. (See directions below.)

Timing: You will need to arrive at Togo, MN. between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. the first day. Please arrive early that first day as you need to get situated in whichever building you choose or set up your camp/RV site. Getting to Camp early will also provide you with the opportunity to get yourselves and you dogs settled in before Camp starts.

We will start Camp around 4:00 p.m. with introductions and One-on-One Walk Training.
After dinner we will gather so that you can get to know the other participants; meet Ann & Jamie; discuss when/where to gather for the morning run; answer any questions you might have about Boot Camp and discuss any other information pertinent to this Camp.

We will start early the next morning. Depending on the temps you may need to water by 4:30 a.m.. We will let you know the night before what the plan is for the first run. If it is warm we will run at sunrise.

We hope that you will all be able to stay in the Bunk H ouse. We have found that the participants really enjoy the comradery of being together and talking dogs.

Weather: We'll be working the dogs no matter what the weather.

Meals: Most meals will be provided this year. Your registration fee includes dinner the first night; brunch and dinner the next two days and brunch the morning of the last day.

Let us know if you have any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accomodate you. The Camp fee includes meals for two participants. If there is only one person attending or you have more than two people with your group, please contact Ann Stead - northome@cpinternet.com

Directions: Take Highway 53 north through Cook to Highway # 1. Turn left of Highway # 1 going west. Take Highway # 1 (west) to Highway #65 - about 22 miles. Turn right (north) on Highway #65. Go 2 miles. The highway will curve to the left and head west - s tay to the left and go exactly 1 mile. Togo Boot Camp road (Danyluk Road) is the first left after the curve (#543). Turn left and go about 1/4 mile to the first left and turn left again. Go through the lumber yard and continue to stay to the right on the well traveled road until you get to the 'Boot Camp' sign. BRING FOR YOUR DOGS:

- Rig, 4-wheeler, Sacco cart (or all of it if you have them and want to bring them) NOTE: Your rig must be able to hold your team while you're off the rig, but not so heavy that your team is unable to pull it in neutral or in gear when training. If you tra in with a 4 wheeler, please email me regarding the kind - geared or automatic.
- Harnesses and collars
- Ganglines
- Necklines (bring extras)
- Water containers (one or more that fit on your rig) and bowls/pans
- Treats (biscuits, etc. if you want, esp. for one-on-one training)
- Booties (if you use them)
- Head lamp (it may be dark outside when we run and/or take care of dog chores, depending on temperatures)
- Dog food
- Poop scooping equipment
- First aid kit and routine medications for your dogs, if you have any
- Extra straw or bedding if needed (we are a long way from town)
- Picket line, tie-outs, outriggers, crates (whatever you use to tie dogs out when you travel and run them)
- We have unlimited training right out of the yard. We will also have on site extra training rigs/4 - - - wheelers/sacco carts IN ADDITION to your equipment.

BRING FOR ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING/PULL TRAINING CLINIC:

- Correction collar(s) (either a prong collar or fine link chain slip or "choke" collar that fits snug over the dog's head -- you'll probably want to bring several to fit your dogs if you ha ve different sized dogs on your team)
- 8 foot leash(es) with snap at BOTH ends (web or leather -- poly rope will burn your hands. You can easily buy a snap at a hardware store and attach it to the handle end of an 8 or 10 foot lead.)
- Belly band (neckline will work)
You can order Leash/Belly Band Sets through Dogbooties.com, Windigo Outfitters or Black Ice . We will have Leash/Belly Bands for sale at Camp. Each team attending Boot Camp for the first time receives one Leash/Belly Band Set.
- Harness(es)
- regular 4 and 6 foot leads or flexis are always useful.

BRING FOR YOURSELF:

- Clothes in layers:
We will work dogs no matter what, so bring rain gear, short sleeves, long sleeves, jackets, sunglasses, hats, etc. Bring sturdy shoes or boots and good soc ks, because you'll be on your feet nearly all day. It's a good idea to bring extra shoes and socks in case you get one pair wet, or bring duck boots. Bring Mud Boots or other calf-high waterproof boots…the marsh is quite wet this time of year, and if you have to get off your rig to correct the dogs….
- Flashlights, head lamps and extra batteries
- Personal toiletries
- Insect repellent - bugs shouldn't be bad this time of year, but you never know  Don't forget unscreen.
- Camera or camcorder (if you're inclined to take pictures!)
- Camp stoves are a good idea especially if we have a full Camp. There is a stove in the Bunk House and the Dog House.
- Sleeping bag/pillow
- Sleeping pad - there are some pads/mattresses
- Snacks/Lunch stuff/beverages for you for your stay (Cook, MN. is about 25 miles away so you can get supplies in town. Most folks don't want to leave to do this as they might miss something!) We are providing breadkasts and dinners for each Camp.
- Paper plates, silverware and cups. (Some items will be supplied)
