Big Dog Bash 2017 Information and Registration

 

Big Dog Bash (BDB) is a 4 day recreational dry land mushing event focused on large breed purebred teams (Malamutes, Inuits, Samoyeds, etc) with not so big dogs (Siberians, Alaskans) joining the event in recent years.  We camp at Jamie Nelson’s (68588 Danyluk Road, Togo MN) and use the many trails available there.

 

Team size is not important. Anything from a 2–dog team to an 18-dog team has enjoyed BDB.  BDB 2016 begins on Sunday (late afternoon) 10/22/17 to Wednesday, 10/25/17.

 

It is very important to note that this event is for fun and is not open to racing teams. This is a “dry land” training event so you will need a cart or quad.  Some loaners may be available.  This year, BDB is organized by:

Payment must be submitted with this registration:

    • BDB cost – $100 per team . At previous year’s BDB “a team” was defined in this way: You are 1 team if you are a pair of people/family attending BDB together & you share a group of dogs that usually run together and sometimes run on separate teams. You are 2 or more teams if you are 2 or more people attending BDB together and each person has their own dogs & they seldom if ever interchange dogs from these teams. For fairness, we will use the same definition this year.
    • Bring some cash to pitch in for food and supplies. Deb C. has been kind enough to cook for us and we hope she will join us in 2016! Price runs around $60.00 per person for 6 meals.
  • Don’t delay! The deadline for registration and payment is 10/10/2016
  • Depending on the size of the teams and the size of vehicles participation in BDB my need to be limited.
  • Please make sure your dogs are current on vaccinations.

**Food arrangements are being discussed now. Both Potluck meals as well as meals prepared ahead of time by someone and paid for by the participants as a food package has worked in the past. Ideas/thoughts welcome! More on this later.
